Total Recovery - A tale of the haves and have nots

SunGard Availability Services has launched a new service, Total Recovery, which delivers fully restored and configured servers to the customer’s doorstep following a business disruption. It’s designed to help customers reduce their Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) by as much as eight hours in the event of disaster. SunGard chooses Borehamwood for 20th recovery centre

SunGard has announced it is to officially open its latest Workplace Recovery Centre in Borehamwood on September 16th. The new building, named Elstree Tower, is a six-storey landmark building in Borehamwood, visible from the A1 and close to the famous film studios in Elstree, Hertfordshire. It offers a phased build-out of up to 1,800 shared and dedicated positions (including dealing). Read more >

Tests of new customer portal underway

SunGard is developing a customer portal that will give Managed Services customers more choice in the way they contact SunGard. Initially, the portal will enable customers to raise tickets themselves (instead of having to phone or email to raise a ticket request) and track the progress of jobs in real time. Read more >

SunGard buys Strohl

As you may have seen in the press, SunGard Availability Services has bought Strohl Systems Group Inc, the largest provider of business continuity planning (BCP) software. Strohl has more than 2,000 customers in 20 countries, including nearly 30% of the US’s Fortune 500. Read more >

New firms join Customer Advisory Board

Two new companies – Martin Currie and Pearson - have joined SunGard Availability Services’ Customer Advisory Board (CAB), the body that represents the customer perspective to the SunGard management team. SunGard regularly consults the CAB on proposals for new products and services and changes to procedures. Read more >
